Wisconsin’s Governor channels more COVID money to hunger relief

Wisconsin’s Governor is sending another 10 million dollars from the American Rescue Plan to hunger relief efforts. Tony Evers announced Thursday the dollars would be split evenly between Feeding Wisconsin and Hunger Task Force.

Since May 2020, the Governor has allocated a total of $65 million in ARPA funds to help food security networks adapt to challenges presented by COVID-19, purchase Wisconsin food products, and invest in food security infrastructure.

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association applauded the new funding.  WCMA Executive Director John Umhoefer says processors are committed to their essential mission of feeding the world, including our neighbors in need and he says dairy processors are ready and eager to continue their partnerships with Hunger Task Force and Feeding Wisconsin.
