Wisconsin’s corn, vegetable groups select new leaders

More new faces will serve on Wisconsin agricultural boards in 2021.

The state’s corn growers have selected new Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board member Zachary Soltvedt from Seymour, and re-elected Ryan Ripp of Dane and James Birchman of Fennimore for three-year terms.  The nine-member board oversees the state’s corn checkoff program.

Bill Guenthner of Antigo was elected President of the board for the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association, succeeding Rod Gumz of Endeavor.  Alex Okray from Plover is the new vice president.  The WPVGA’s Associate Division selected Chris Brooks from Central Door Solutions in Plover as president and Julie Cartwright from Jay-Mar in Plover as vice president.
