Wisconsin Taste of Elegance contestants named

The Wisconsin Pork Association has named the eight chefs who will compete in the 2010 Wisconsin Taste of Elegance contest next week. The chefs will each prepare a pork recipe that has not been previously featured on their menu hoping to win the title “Chef Par Excellence”, $750 and the right to represent Wisconsin at the National Taste of Elegance contest. Runner-up earns $500 with $250 going to third place. There is also a $250 People’s Choice award.

The contest is open to the public; tickets are $12 and can be reserved by calling the Wisconsin Pork Association 608-723-7551

. The eight chefs who will be competing are:

  • • Chef Joud Achkar, Cherokee Country Club, Madison
  • • Chef Corey Arndt, Big Tomatoes, Green Bay
  • • Chef Miles Breed, The Great Karoo, Wisconsin Dells
  • • Chef Andrew Hurst, Capitol Lakes/Vintage Brewing Company, Madison
  • • Chef Nathan J. Morrissey, Wisconsin Machine Shed, Pewaukee
  • • Chef Julie Przybylski, Learning Gardens, Madison
  • • Chef Noah Przybylski, Seasons and Henry St. Café, Madison
  • • Chef Graham Smith, Heartland Grill, Madison

The Taste of Elegance is sponsored by the Wisconsin Pork Association; Cargill Meat Solutions; White Marble Farms; SYSCO Food Services of Baraboo; Elanco Animal Health; Pork Checkoff; and Rural Mutual Insurance Company.
