Wisconsin State Fair attendance up

The Wisconsin State Fair attractions, competitions, and great weather brought attendance up 19% over 2021.

Public Relations Director Tess Kerksen says 1,003,450 fairgoers visited this year’s event. 

By the numbers, more than 10-thousand competitive exhibit and animal entries were judged and showcased at this year’s fair.  Also, 320-thousand cream puffs were sold, over 100-thousand ears of sweet corn were served, and the Sporkies first place food vendor, Gertrude’s Pretzels served almost 13-thousand Peno Pretzel Popper bratwerst.

The Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction raised $321,950.  The Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction raised more than $100,000.  The Blue Ribbon Dairy Products Auction raised $45,565. A significant portion of funds raised at these auctions benefit Wisconsin’s youth agriculture programs and provide scholarships.
