A Wisconsin man has been recognized for his work in farm safety education.

The Journal of Agromedicine has named Progressive Agriculture Foundation executive Brian Kuhl (Cool) as its 2023 Leader in the Field.

Kuhl lives in northwestern Wisconsin near the Minnesota border and was raised on the family farm near Amery.  Kuhl oversees the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program, which is now the largest and longest-running ag safety initiative of its kind.  Before leading the Progressive Agriculture Foundation, Kuhl represented CHS on the foundation board.  He has been active in farm safety education since his father was injured on the family farm.

Since the pandemic, Kuhl has also expanded the foundation’s program availability beyond in-person safety days to include online teaching resources.
