Wisconsin Governor supports broadband expansion

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker at State Fair Governor’s Auction

Scott Walker emphasized that during his State of the State speech, saying “Reliable Internet service is something we heard about at nearly every listening session, therefore I’m proposing the state invest 35-and-a-half million dollars more to expand our Broadband Acces Grant program.”

Wis. Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch

Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch spoke to agronomists at the Wisconsin Agribusiness Classic and tells Brownfield broadband expansion will improve education and business.  “Not only for businesses and education, but also for law enforcement, for health care, and ultimately for agriculture.”

Kleefisch says broadband is a utility and is as important today as rural electrification was 50 years ago.

More and more farms are relying on fast reliable Internet service to manage data and to monitor modern systems including dairy parlors.
