Wisconsin Farm Bureau mourns loss of past President

A long-time board member and President of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau has died.  Jim Holte from Elk Mound served 24 years on the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation board and was President for seven years until he retired in 2019.  Holte was also on the American Farm Bureau Board from 2015 to 2019.

Along with Holte’s years of service as a voice for farmers, he also hosted former Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue at his farm in May of 2018, where many of his fellow farmers had an opportunity to discuss policy.  Holte just received the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Distinguished Service to Wisconsin Agriculture award last December.

Holte was two days away from his 70th birthday.  Services will be Friday at 1:30pm at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 910 9th Street East, Menomonie, WI.
