Wisconsin Corn Program launches education foundation

Mark Hoffmann

The Wisconsin Corn Program is starting a new organization to focus on agricultural education.

Mark Hoffmann with Wisconsin Corn Growers tells Brownfield the new Wisconsin Corn Foundation will offer scholarships as well as stipends to attend Corn/Soy Expo and Commodity Classic. “The goal is to raise money for scholarships. We’ll use it for education which will be anything 4-H, FFA, going on to extended schooling, coming to the convention, anything to do with education.”

And Hoffman says they want all ag students to take advantage of the opportunity, so the recipients will not be limited to corn-related fields of study. “We decided we may lose some good potential there, so it’s anybody that’s going on to agriculture in education.”

Hoffmann says they will be reaching out to growers and agribusinesses to support the new foundation, and future students will soon have details at Wisconsin Corn.org.
