Wisconsin bill changing farmer-led watershed program reaches Governor’s desk

Wisconsin legislation that would make changes to the farmer-led watershed program now await the Governor’s signature.

Senate Bill 59 and Assembly Bill 65 would allow farmers from adjacent watersheds to join a farmer-led watershed group.  The bill also would allow producer-led groups that are not legal entities to receive state grants for projects through a member of the group.

The legislation had strong bipartisan support at the Capitol.
