Wheeler: We will have E15 for next summer

The head of the EPA says U.S. drivers WILL have access to E15 gasoline next summer, “We will be able to go to year-round E15 by next summer. This is a commitment by President Trump.”

In an interview with Brownfield Ag News last Thursday, Acting EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said the normal rule making process will be completed in time, “So that does take a little bit of time but our people are already working on it and we’ll be putting out the proposal and getting those comments and then finalizing it before the driving season.”

The Renewable Fuels Association has said the EPA should expedite the rule making process so drivers and the industry have the assurance of next summer’s E15 availability. Wheeler assures Brownfield all deadlines will be met for it to be available.

  • The prospect of year-round E-15 availability is great news for drivers in big cities and highway drivers. E-15 offers higher octane and reduced vehicle emissions at a lower price. E-15 will lower air pollution in urban areas and provide an octane boost that most new cars can use to produce higher mileage. E-15 is actually a cleaner fuel than E-10 which represents about 97% of gasoline sold.

This is great news for the American Consumer!
