Welcome rains move across Iowa

Welcome rain fell across a large portion of the Midwest over the weekend.

Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig tells Brownfield significant totals are being reported in his state.

“It’s huge. Any Monday I get to start the day by looking at the precipitation totals over the weekend is a good day.”

He says there were reports of severe weather.

“In terms of hail. But really just a nice, widespread rain which was much needed. Now of course if we can order it up, we’d take a continued active pattern and a little cooler temperatures as we head into pollination.”

Naig says it does appear a more active weather pattern is setting in for the rest of June and beginning of July.
