Website connects consumers with local beef

A website has been launched to connect consumers with local beef.

R-CALF USA says it’s USABeef.org is meant to help consumers find beef in places where beef cases in grocery stores are empty amid the coronavirus pandemic.

CEO Bill Bullard says the website is set up where producers can list their location, beef products and contact information and consumers can search for their state or town to find the nearest beef producers.

Bullard says it allows consumers to directly buy beef that is exclusively born, raised and harvested in the U.S.

R-CALF says it hopes farmers and rancher struggling with seriously depressed cattle prices, who use the site, will be able to stay in business.
