Warmer conditions are on the way

Brownfield Meteorologist Greg Soulje says growers can expect warmer conditions after experiencing one extreme after the other.

“That’s certainly good news if we can keep an even keel drying process going from the overtly wet ground that have played out to the north end across eastern sections of the corn belt and south as well,” he says.

He says timely rains should help crop emergence and development.

“Some of the drier patches that are seen west of Missouri and across the Dakotas and sections of the western corn belt will likely see some recharge here over the next couple of days with a couple of outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms as well,” he says.

Soulje says the summer season will likely be a mixed bag with wet conditions in the far eastern corn belt, a good mix of wet and dry conditions in the central corn belt, and dry conditions in the western corn belt.
