Warm Wisconsin December despite snow

December was warmer than normal in Wisconsin.

The USDA says average highs across the state were above freezing, even as snow blanketed most of the state.

The ground has frozen in most areas, halting tillage, but the mild temperatures did allow producers to feed livestock and haul manure.

The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition numbers resume in April.
