Warm, breezy weather dries Indiana fields

This past week began with storms and hail in Indiana, but warmer, breezy weather dried fields allowing farmers to start fieldwork.  Rain amounts varied from more than an inch-and-a-half down to zero.  Southern Indiana is unusually dry.  Cover crop termination and anhydrous ammonia application has begun.  There’s a little corn, soybean and mint being planted.  Pastures, hay and winter wheat are greening up.
