Walz extends relief for Minnesota livestock haulers

Governor Walz is extending emergency relief from certain weight restrictions and hours of service requirements to allow the safe and efficient transportation of livestock in Minnesota.

The executive order is in response to COVID-19 impacts on the meat supply chain that have put a strain on Minnesota farmers.

The emergency declaration pertains mostly to drivers assisting with the disposal of animal carcasses as several packing plants remain at less than capacity.

The order is effective immediately and lasts 30 days.
