Value of Dairy Checkoff shines through in 2019

The CEO of Midwest Dairy is emphasizing the role of the Checkoff as the industry experienced highs and lows in 2019.

Molly Pelzer credits checkoff dollars for helping build sales and consumer trust.

“It (was) vitally important as we were challenged with trade uncertainties, weather, and with consumer trends on how they feel about dairy.”

She tells Brownfield Midwest Dairy has discovered consumers are redefining what healthy foods look like.

“Back in the day when I was being trained as a registered dietitian, it was all about the nutrients in food and how those nutrients were used by your body to sustain health. But now consumers are thinking more about how that food was produced.”

Through Checkoff investments, she says dairy farmers have opportunities to share stories of stewardship to the animals and environment that resonate with consumers.

  • The nations dairy farmers do not feel like the check off dollars are working! Ask the farmers that where forced to liquidate their life time savings. Tom Vilsack dose not and is not worth a million dollar salary!
