USSEC CEO optimistic about soy exports in ‘23

The CEO of the U.S. Soybean Export Council says he sees a favorable soy export outlook for 2023.

Jim Sutter tells Brownfield soybean sales are down 3% year-over-year, but… “Considering the world’s economic situations and these various problems, I am happy with that.”

He says China will be a big factor. “Exports to China have been pretty strong year-to-date,” Sutter said. “I’m happy to see that. China is the largest customer of U.S. soy and a very important market. We’ve seen good exports to that destination so far.”

Sutter says he’s concerned about reports of a large crop in Brazil.
