USGC CEO on USDA planting estimates: “That’s a lot of corn to move”

U.S. Grains Council CEO Ryan LeGrand has a succinct response to USDA’s prospective planting estimate of 97 million corn acres.

“That’s a lot of corn that needs to be moved, both internally and outside of the United States’ borders.”

He tells Brownfield there could be some changes, but either way USGC is doing everything it can to promote corn on the global stage.  Even during a pandemic.

“Grain continues to flow, and operations are largely uninterrupted. So that’s the message we want to get out, and hopefully have the world look to us as the most reliable supplier in the world.”

The U.S. Grains Council operates in more than 50 countries, although LeGrand says all their offices have now moved to telework status to protect employees.
