USDA narrows relocation sites for ERS/NIFA

The USDA has narrowed the list of applicants for the Economic Research Service (ERS) and National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) office relocation to: the Greater Kansas City area, several locations in Indiana (including Purdue University), and the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina.

Ag Secretary Perdue says the top applicants have existing buildings with enough space and they meet quality of life, workforce and cost considerations.

Two applicants remain in the running if the others don’t pan out. They are in St. Louis, Missouri and Madison, Wisconsin.
