USDA says L’Tonya Davis has been named the agency’s new Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, replacing acting officer Leslie Weldon. The permanent position will lead the USDA in its efforts to improve equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, and will also oversee the implementation of the department’s new strategic plan.

Davis previously served as a director in the Office of Communications and Project Management for the Food and Drug Administration.
