USDA invests in specialty crops

The USDA has awarded nearly $250 million in grants to support specialty crops.

Nearly $170 million has been given through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program to 56 projects which work to increase demand and address issues in the industry.  Priority was given to projects that respond to COVID-19 impacts and supply chain disruptions.

Nearly $74 million was awarded to 21 projects through the Specialty Crop Research Initiative with priority given to multistate or multi-institutional efforts.
