USDA adds dry beans, peas and wheat to crop insurance policies

USDA has announced it’s strengthening crop insurance for producers who plant dry beans, dry peas and small grains.

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) says there will be other adjustments that make crop insurance more accessible for organic producers and veteran farm families starting in 2022.

In a statement, RMA says the options “strengthen coverage options, increase consistency and clarity.”

USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) is making changes through three Final Rules, which will be posted at the end of the moth.
