Undersecretary McKinney calls USMCA dairy provisions a huge win
USDA’s Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Ag Affairs sees the new USMCA agreement as a win, especially for the dairy sector.
Ted McKinney says, “We had some things to fix with our friends with Canada, and I do mean friends. What they were doing with their dairy milk supply system was absolutely against the rules.”
McKinney tells Brownfield holding out for the removal of Canada’s Class 7 pricing had to be done. “To get dairy fixed, not just to get a little bit of access but to get rules in place so that they stop dumping on the world dry milk powder and butter was a huge win.”
McKinney says the ag provisions of USMCA with Mexico really didn’t change much.
The Undersecretary spoke to Brownfield during the NAFB convention in Kansas City.
