U.S. ethanol production, supply up on week

U.S. ethanol production and stocks were up modestly last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.060 million barrels a day, up 1,000 on the week, the tenth week in a row with an expansion, as producers respond to improved margins, even with the uncertainties about the 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard.

The domestic supply was up for the first time since October, gaining 362,000 barrels on the week to 20.639 million, but that’s 2.391 million barrels below a year ago.

The USDA’s next for corn ethanol use estimate is out Tuesday, December 10th.
