U.S. ethanol production, stocks jump

U.S. ethanol production surged last week while supplies grew.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.071 million barrels a day, up 19,000 on the week, the highest weekly average since August 2018.

Stocks climbed 1.154 million barrels to 23.404 million.

The industry continues to wait for more details on year-round E15 use and to see what role it plays in proposed trade deals.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out June 11th.

  • EIA’s Ethanol Inventory Numbers are suspecious this week because to reach them you have to invent 44,857 Barrels per day of additional ethanol and also have zero exports for the week which year to date have averaged 117,536 BPD.
