Tyson says it’s cooperating in the chicken price-fixing investigation

Tyson Foods says it is “fully cooperating” with the U.S. Justice Department on its investigation into price-fixing in the chicken industry in exchange for leniency from criminal prosecution.

Tyson acknowledged that some of its employees were implicated in the alleged price-fixing scheme. The company said it immediately self-reported those issues and “took appropriate actions” to address them.

Tyson’s public acknowledgment of its role in the investigation comes a week after four chicken industry executives were indicted on charges of price fixing and bid rigging.

Tyson is also part of a U.S. Justice Department probe into possible market manipulation in the beef industry, along with Cargill, JBS and National Beef.
