Trump: no agreement on tariff roll back

President Trump Friday morning said he has not agreed to roll back any of the U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports and that he wants the trade deal to be signed in the U.S. Thursday, China’s Commerce Ministry spokesperson said Washington D.C. and Beijing had agreed to a phased removal of the tariffs after the signing of phase one. New U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods are scheduled to go into effect December 15th.

The White House did not comment on the President’s statement.

Phase one of the deal was originally expected to be signed this month in Chile at the now canceled APEC meeting, but that might be pushed back to early December.
