Trump expected to release infrastructure plan

President Donald Trump is expected to discuss a $1.7 trillion infrastructure plan during his State of the Union address on Tuesday.

A leaked draft of the infrastructure plan says 25 percent of the total funding would be used in rural areas. The plan defines rural areas as having less than 50,000 people.

The White House is expected to release a detailed plan in the coming weeks after the speech.

The federal government will reportedly only pay $200 billion out of the more than $1 trillion plan, leaving state and local governments to compete for federal funding.
