Trump EPA left “a mess” for Biden EPA

What specific actions the Biden administration will take on renewable fuels remains to be seen and a senior research associate with the University of Missouri says it could be several months.

Ben Brown, with MU’s Division of Applied Social Sciences, says Biden’s EPA nominee is inheriting “a mess” from the previous administration, “Because they left a lot of those biofuel decisions TO this administration and they’ll have to work that out and that’s going to take time.”

While President Biden’s nomination of Michael Regan (ree-gun) as EPA Administrator has advanced out of the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee by a bipartisan vote, Brown says, “There were six Republicans that voted against it largely because they didn’t get the clarity on biofuels that they wanted.”

Brown says Biden showed strong support for ethanol and biodiesel during his campaign but it hasn’t been talked about much in the weeks since his inauguration and no legislation about renewables has been introduced.
