Trump to discuss rural America, broadband with AFBF

President Donald Trump is expected to outline some of the administration’s infrastructure initiative in his speech at the American Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Nashville today.

According to Politico, Trump will likely focus on his task force on agriculture and rural prosperity and its recommendations to expand broadband to rural America.

The recommendations will focus on e-connectivity, improving quality of life in rural areas, improving quality of the rural workforce, using technology to empower rural areas and improving economic development.

The report highlights the importance of reliable and affordable high-speed internet and says it will help transform rural America and is a key catalyst for prosperity.

The report also recommends that an inter-agency strategy be created based on best practices to expand broadband.
