Trump delays next round of tariffs on China

President Trump is holding back on the next round of planned tariffs on Chinese goods.  Trump tweeted Wednesday evening the 5% increase to tariffs scheduled for October 1^st will be postponed two weeks. 

Trump says he agreed to the delay as a gesture of goodwill at the request of Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, and because the People’s Republic of China will be celebrating its 70^th anniversary.

The new date for implementing additional tariffs is October 15^th if the two countries don’t reach a trade deal.  Trade talks are planned for early October, but neither country has announced when the Chinese delegation is coming to Washington D.C.
