Trump and Biden discuss climate challenges at debate

President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden discussed climate change during the first presidential debate Tuesday night.

Trump says his goal is…“I want crystal clean water and I want beautiful clean air,” he says. “We have now the lowest carbon- if you look at our numbers now, we are doing phenomenally.”

Trump says he believes the country must do everything it can to achieve that including planting one billion trees.

Biden says his energy plan would work toward achieving net-zero emissions and creating jobs.

“We can get to net zero in terms of energy production by 2035,” he says. “Not only not costing people jobs, but creating millions of good paying jobs.”

Trump stood by his decision to exit the Paris Climate Accord. Biden said he would rejoin the Paris Climate Accord.

Biden criticized the Trump administration rolling back regulations of methane emissions and weakening fuel economy standards. Trump says cars are now cheaper and safer because of the decision to roll back the fuel economy standard.

  • Seriously! That’s what you took from that exchange on climate change!? One man has a plan, and the other threw out his normal set of exaggerations and lies, as well as the stupidity of “raking the forest floor”, and you’re reporting it as a serious discussion!? That was not a serious discussion on climate change.
