Triumph Foods worker dies

A man diagnosed with COVID-19 who worked at the Triumph Foods pork plant in northwest Missouri (St. Joseph) has died.

Health officials say the worker, who tested positive on April 22nd, was in his 40s and had underlying medical conditions. More than 400 Triumph Food workers have tested positive in the past week but had no symptoms at that time as the state of Missouri ramps up testing.

It’s the second death from COVID-19 in Buchanan County, Missouri. The first was an inmate of the St. Joseph prison.
