I am glad to see that you are an active member of the House Agriculture Committee and are a ranking member of the general farm commodities and risk management subcommittee. It is also good to see that you serve on the livestock and foreign agriculture subcommittee and the biotechnology, horticulture, and research subcommittee. With this in mind is there any truth that Smithfield Farms (Our largest hog producer) was sold to a Chinese firm and if so was there anything that you could have done to halt this transaction.
