Third Indiana cervid herd tests positive for bovine TB

The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) has identified another cervid herd testing positive for bovine tuberculosis. The latest herd, located in Harrison County brings to 3 the number of cervid herds testing positive, the other herds are in Franklin and Wayne counties, all three premises are linked.

This latest positive test does not affect Indiana’s TB Free status for cattle and bison.

‘Cervid’ is a category of animals that includes elk and various species of deer.
