The impact of high interest rates on equipment sales

A southwest Iowa farmer says he’s holding off on equipment purchases because of soaring interest rates.

“The price of machinery is just crazy,” said Duane Aistrope of Randolph. “There’s no way it should be where it’s at today.”

Aistrope tells Brownfield he typically has a schedule to trade for new machinery, but… “In the last three years, that has gone completely out the window,” he said. “I try to run things a little longer.”

Aistrope says it’s been difficult to get parts this year.
