Texas County in Missouri “Agri-Ready”
Southern Missouri’s Texas County is the latest to be deemed “Agri-Ready” by the Missouri Farmers Care Coalition.
Texas County’s ag product sales total more than 400-Million dollars a year – from forestry, beef and dairy cattle operations.
Presiding county commissioner Scott Long says the designation sends a positive message that ag and forestry industries in Texas County will “prosper,” benefitting local communities.
Counties that apply for Agri-Ready status must have no ordinances regulating agriculture that are stricter than state law.
