Tennessee crops, livestock end year in good shape

A warm, wet December helped pasture and wheat conditions in Tennessee.

The USDA says 68% of the state’s winter wheat crop is in good to excellent condition and nearly all of Tennessee has adequate to surplus soil moisture.

57% of cattle are called good to excellent and while 64% of the state has adequate hay and roughage, 25% is short, but overall, the supply is considered to be adequate.
