Tennessee crops: 76% soybeans and 62% cotton rated good to excellent

Timely rains across Tennessee were greatly beneficial to the state’s row crops.
percent of soybeans are called good to excellent with 82 percent of the crop
emerged and 8 percent blooming. Cotton
is rated 62 percent good to excellent with 29 percent of the crop squaring and
3 percent setting bolls. Corn is rated
72 percent good to excellent with 17 percent silking.
Wheat harvest is 88 percent complete.
Sixty-four percent of pastures are rated good to excellent and the first cutting of hay is 94 percent complete.
Seventy-four percent of Topsoil and eighty percent of Subsoil
are called adequate to surplus.
