Tennessee crops: 67% cotton, 75% soybeans harvested

Rainfall and cooler temperatures slowed harvest significantly, with some farmers along the Tennessee River reporting damages to unharvested crops.  According to the latest report from the USDA, corn harvest is 99 percent complete. 

Cotton harvest is 67 percent complete

Soybeans are 75 percent harvested.

Fifty-eight percent of the winter wheat crop has been planted and 36 percent has emerged, with 61 percent of the crop rated good to excellent. 

Rains have helped pasture conditions improve.  Topsoil moisture is rated 87 percent and subsoil moisture is rated 80 percent adequate to surplus.
