Tennessee crops: 62% cotton, 76% soybeans rated good to excellent

Recent rainfalls across much of Tennessee have helped to greatly improve crop conditions. 

Corn is 64% silking with 19% in the dough stage and 80% rated good to excellent.  Cotton is still running well behind the normal pace with 58% is squaring and 8% is setting bolls, 62% of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 96% emerged and 30% blooming, 76% is rated good to excellent.  Tobacco is rated 56% good to excellent with 95% of the crop transplanted and 25% topped.  Tomatoes are in good condition and in need of warmer temperatures to ripen the fruit. 

Pastures are rated 61% good to excellent.

Topsoil moisture is 86% and subsoil moisture is 85% adequate to surplus.
