Tennessee crop ratings decline, corn 64%, soybeans 65% good to excellent

Crop conditions declined despite recent rainfalls and much of the state remains abnormally dry. 

Corn is rated 64% good to excellent with 5% silking.  Soybeans are rated 65% good to excellent with 87% planted, 77% of the crop emerged, and 10% blooming.  Cotton is rated 62% good to excellent with 23% squaring and 1% setting bolls. 

Winter wheat harvest is 50% complete with 95% of the crop mature and 80% rated good to excellent.  Pastures conditions vary, but declined to a 47% good to excellent rating with the first cutting was 87% complete.  Eighty-one percent of tobacco has been transplanted. 

Topsoil moisture is 56% adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is 60% adequate to surplus.
