Tennessee corn is 4% planted

Spotty cold and wet conditions in parts of the state are causing planting delays for some Tennessee farmers.  Wheat conditions across much of the state are mostly good with 70% of the crop rated good to excellent and 57% jointed with 1% headed.

Four percent of the corn crop has been planted behind both last year and the 5-year average.

Twenty-eight percent of the apple crop is in full bloom. Sixty-six percent of strawberries are rated good to excellent. Pastures are rated 48% good to excellent.

Topsoil moisture is 94% adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is 96% adequate to surplus.
