Tennessee: 73% soybeans & 67% cotton good to excellent

Much needed rainfall provided relief to many Tennessee crops.

Seventy-three percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with 73 percent blooming and 45 percent setting pods.  Cotton is rated 67 percent good to excellent with 90 percent of the crop squaring and 67 percent setting bolls.  Corn is rated 72 percent good to excellent with 94 percent silking and 59 percent in the dough stage.  Sixty-three percent of tobacco is topped with 56 percent rated good to excellent.

Sixty percent of pastures are rated good to excellent.

Seventy-give percent of Topsoil and seventy-three percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
