Survey shows good support for beef checkoff

cattle iowaThree out of four cattle and dairy producers—76 percent—continue to support the beef checkoff program.

“And 81 percent of the people says the beef checkoff has helped contribute to a positive trend in beef demand,” says California cattleman Jimmy Maxey, chairman of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board.

In addition, Maxey says, the number of producers who say they do not support the program, at 10 percent, is the lowest ever found.

“So we have a good portion of cattle producers who feel that the checkoff is helping them in what they do,” Maxey says.

Those figures come from the board’s annual survey of producer attitudes about the beef checkoff. A summary of the findings can be found online at MyBeefCheckoff.com.
