Sukup Manufacturing CEO says grain storage demand remains strong

One of the nation’s leading grain storage manufacturers has kept busy trying to keep up with demand.

Sukup Manufacturing CEO Steve Sukup tells Brownfield employees have been working extra hours.

“We’ve got a solid October ahead of us yet, and it looks like it’s going to keep running through November. That derecho really created havoc for a while, but it’s one where more storage is going to be needed.”

He says a couple of factors are sustaining interest in grain bins and dryers.

“Good yields out there, and right now we’ve seen the nice bump in the prices. So the folks who can be able to store it are benefiting from increased prices here.”

The north-central Iowa based company is the largest family-owned and operated grain storage and handling manufacturer in the world.
