State corn growers want year-round E15

Congress continues its push for year-round E15. Missouri Corn Growers Association CEO Bradley Schad says anything can happen in a lame duck session.

“We want to make sure retailers have the ability to sell it to consumers that want it. We’re very excited this will completely get rid of completely the ability to stop E15 sales during the summer months.”

Schad says E15 looks good from a price perspective.

“It’s a great opportunity for consumers to save money. We’re seeing anywhere from 7 to 15 cents per gallon cheaper on E15.”

Last week, House lawmakers introduced a bill that serves as a companion to another year-round E-15 bill moving through the Senate. Lawmakers are scheduled to wrap up in Washington D.C. on December 22.
