Soybean harvest price projection

A group of university ag economists are projecting a soybean harvest price of $8.36 per bushel.

Economists from the University of Illinois and Ohio State University say the projected price would not trigger crop insurance payments. They say the soybean harvest price would have to drop below $7.80 for the highest coverage Revenue Protection payments to be made.

The projection is based on USDA’s soybean yield estimate of 49.8 bushels an acre.
