Soybean demand in undeveloped regions of the world is expected to have tremendous growth.

Jim Domagalski farms in St. Clair County, on the east side of the state, and represents Michigan as a United Soybean Board Director.  He says at a recent U.S. Soybean Export Council meeting he had a chance to meet representatives from India.

“They told me that in the very short term they will be importing beans from us in the near future because they will not be able to grow enough food to sustain themselves, and we’re ready to handle that.”

He says undeveloped countries like India and others are using soy as a protein source in school lunch programs.  Domagalski says 83 countries import U.S. soybeans.
